Buying a used small electric van

Spoticar offers an impressive range of used small electric vans which are ideal for commercial and domestic use alike. Electric vans are becoming increasingly common on roads in the UK, especially among fleet operators and local businesses who can benefit from dramatically reduced fuel costs and road tax fees. Electric vans are available in all sizes from the smallest such as the Renault Zoe van to the largest which include electric versions of the Renault Master, and the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. There are many different makes and models on the market, and each model usually comes in several variants to make it more suitable for the drivers’ individual needs. Electric vans are not only cost effective, they also are low to zero emissions so are a better choice for the environment and for public health as they produce far less localised pollution.

Popular small electric vans

The right electric van for the job depends on the kind of loading capacity you need, as well as how far you need to drive it and how often you will be able to charge it. Most larger vans will have a smaller range when they are fully electric and this is largely because a larger, heavier van will take more battery power to move than a smaller one. If you need a smaller capacity electric van then the chances are that you will be able to find the perfect one with the ideal balance of performance, price and range from our selection of small used electric vans. These are some of the most popular and highly recommended small electric vans that are available second hand with Spoticar:

Renault Kangoo ZE - This small electric van has recently been renamed the Kangoo E-Tech and it has been on the market since 2006. While it’s not the most modern small electric van, it has proven itself to be a reliable workhorse and is considered by many to be the best selling small electric van in Europe. There are several different versions of the electric Kangoo available, and recently in 2020 a Business+ version was added to the line which comes with additional standard kit. It has a range of about 140 miles, and a loading capacity of 3.4 - 4.6 cubic metres depending on which version you choose.

Nissan e-NV200 - The Nissan e-NV200 is also considered a top small electric van and is very popular in the UK and in Europe. This is a taller and narrower van than many of the other used small electric vans on the market, but it still has a fantastic load capacity of up to 4.2 cubic metres and can carry payloads up to 705kg which is impressive for an electric van of this size.

Renault Zoe small electric van - The Renault Zoe is one of the most popular electric cars to enter the UK market, and it is also available in a small electric van format which swaps the rear seats of the car version in exchange for a larger loading capacity. It is the smallest electric van currently available, with a load capacity of about 1 cubic metre, but it more than makes up for its smaller capacity with an impressive single charge range, which is up to 245 miles.

Choosing small electric vans

As our requirements for hauling loads has changed over the years, there has been a significant increase in the demand for small bodied electric vans which are more economical, more affordable, and easier to drive than their much larger counterparts. Smaller electric vans are perfect for those who only need to carry small loads and they are perfect for navigating urban roads as well as being much easier to park in tight spaces. If you only need to carry a relatively small load then these can be the perfect balance of practicality, economy and capacity, and they are especially popular among sole traders as well as people who need a small, affordable used van for domestic purposes.
