The Kia Sportage is a popular family SUV, great for those looking for a spacious vehicle with the advantage of being at a higher driving position with great visibility on the road. The Kia Sportage has some great standout features and a unique look, although not as big as some of the SUVs on the market the Sportage has the advantage of sitting in the middle ground between small and large SUV. This makes the Kia Sportage a great match for those looking for extra space but nothing too cumbersome on the road.

Engine options

The Kia Sportage has some great engine options, with new technology integrated into some of the higher spec variations. There Sportage has the option of a 1.6 Turbocharged Petrol or 1.6 Diesel engines, these are the standard in the range.

Along with the standard options if you’re looking at the automatic version of the Kia Sportage it may also include a small 48V battery which Kia are naming mild hybrid. The Mild Hybrid version comes with either a 1.6 Turbocharged Petrol or 1.6 Diesel engine. This battery alone is not enough to drive the car, but it does reduce emissions by providing some of the power needed. The car can’t be plugged in to charge, the battery takes its charge from the engine using the intelligent technology on board. This is a great option if you’re not ready for the switch to an all electric vehicle but want to benefit from increased fuel economy.
