Used Honda Civic

Buying a used Honda

Honda is known for producing incredibly reliable and family-friendly cars. Every car is designed to be comfortable, value for money, and of high quality.

Popular Honda models

There are several standout models of Honda vehicles that have become popular with families. These are the most popular and common Honda models that you will find on the used car market.

Honda Civic

The Honda Civic is a compact hatchback offering excellent practicality and a sporty look, both inside and out. It comes with the option of a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. Honda is working on creating a hybrid version of the civic, due to be launched in autumn 2022. The Civics' sporty and stylish design stands out even above its most popular rivals, the Ford Focus and VW Golf. The Honda Civic has some exciting features, such as parking sensors as standard, good driver chair support and an integrated infotainment system, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on higher trim models.

Practicality wise, the Honda Civic has plenty of room in the front, and the boot is large, but there is limited headroom in the back for passengers. This car would suit a family with small children, but you would be pushed to carry four six-foot adults in this vehicle.

Honda Jazz

The Honda Jazz is a small car with clever well-planned features to maximise interior space. Classed as a super-mini, this car should feel cramped in the back, but there is ample head and legroom for multiple adult passengers. Easy to access iso-fix points also make the back seats ideal for families with children. The boot is an impressive size for a vehicle in its class, and the rear seats fold flat for more space and lift for additional height in the back.

The Honda Jazz is available with a few different engine options, including a hybrid option that has a 1.5 petrol engine, a stand-alone 1.3 petrol engine, and a 1.5 diesel engine. The diesel engine has now been discontinued. The Hybrid is the best option for those looking to save money on fuel and take advantage of the electric engine.

Honda CR-V

If you’re looking for a practical SUV suitable for the whole family, the Honda CR-V will be ideal. This SUV comes with safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, auto emergency braking and an SOS system. Front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera are also included to assist with parking. Driver comforts include dual-zone climate control, blindspot monitoring and LED fog lamps. There is also a 7-seater option for larger families, although the back row of seats does feel cramped and is only really suitable for children. Some of these features are only available on the higher specification models, so make sure you check the listing of every used car carefully to ensure it has the features you expect.

The Honda CR-V has a few engine options you can choose from, firstly a self-charging hybrid and secondly a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The petrol engine is available in a two-wheel drive and an all-wheel-drive option. There is an older 1.6-litre diesel option that you can find on the used car market, but the diesel option has been discontinued.

Honda HR-V

The Honda CR-V can be described as a mid-range utility vehicle, whereas the Honda HR-V is a smaller, coupe-inspired SUV that is surprisingly versatile and powerful, making it ideal for travelling in rush hour traffic or for parking in tighter spaces.
