Buying a used Ford Kuga

Dashboard 

The layout of the dashboard is well thought out and the individual controls are easy to operate, the whole feel of the car is premium with a good selection of storage spaces inside the cabin. Practicality and space 

In the back there is plenty of headspace and enough room for three adults to travel comfortably in the back at once. There are also extra comfort options in the back including the ability to tilt the seats, charging points for phones and other devices, armrests, and cup holders.  

Some higher model options also come equipped with hands free boot opening, the boot offers plenty of space, although there are bigger boots out there if it’s a particular focus point for your household. The boot on the hybrid model is slightly smaller due to the battery position so if you do need that extra boot space be aware of this slight limitation. There is no load lip and good tethering points in the boot. The back seats are easily lowered from the boot to provide more space for carrying large or longer items.

The Ford Kuga is a family car aimed at providing a great experience and safety for all of the family. It has some great safety features which are provided to improve your experience. Evasive steering assist, the higher specification models come with this great feature. It takes over the driving if there is an object in the way and avoids it by swerving. If this isn’t possible the car slows down to minimise the impact and damage.  

All round parking sensors provide overall protection for the vehicle, combined with a reversing camera you can avoid any small bumps or scrapes. The reversing camera even has its own washing jet to keep it clean.

Engine options 

There are several options in terms of engine on the Ford Kuga, these are detailed below.  

  • 2.0L diesel 190 hp - this option is only available as an automatic 

  • Plug-in Hybrid - 2.5L petrol mated to an electric motor 225hp, 14 Kwh battery pack. The plug-in hybrid option can do up to 35 miles on electric charge only and it takes 3.5 hours from empty to full using a 7kWh charger. It also offers regenerative braking which saves petrol and adds more charge to the battery. The hybrid model can achieve up to 80mph without needing to engage the petrol engine as long as the revs are kept below a certain level.
