As you may have recognised in the various model names, the Fiat Tipo range offers a variety of trim, body style and gearbox options alongside engine types. A six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard on all Fiat Tipo models, with an automatic available in the E-Torq model and a dual-clutch transmission on the diesel engine. There are also three main trim options available in this range:
Easy: the standard trim level in the range, these models have driving and safety technologies such as cruise control, a speed limiter and emergency braking alongside a DAB radio, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity.
Easy Plus: the technology in this model is enhanced by a five-inch touchscreen, a leather interior and rear parking sensors amongst other features.
Lounge: the most comfortable model in the range, this version has a rear-view camera, 17-inch alloys, chrome detailing and an electrically adjustable seat.
Which Fiat Tipo should you choose?
There are lots of Fiat Tipo models to choose from, which means there are a variety of options to suit your needs. For example, if you’re a small or young family looking for a car that will stay fuel efficient on your daily commute to school and work, then the 1.4L T-Jet hatchback model will give you all the performance you need. Alternatively, if you’re looking for a bit more space and comfort for long-distance driving, then the 1.6L MultiJet Station Wagon model will be an ideal option.
What should you look out for in a used Fiat Tipo?
With the oldest model being manufactured in 2016, there haven’t been a huge amount of issues reported with Fiat Tipo models. Plus, Fiat’s improving reputation for reliability and the affordability of this range makes it an attractive used car purchase for many. However, it’s important that you run a test drive, have a thorough check of the vehicle, its servicing and MOT history and buy from a retailer with a good warranty to stay protected from any unexpected repair bills or breakdowns.
